Insulation and warmth

For insulated ski jackets we agree the insulation type, weight and baffle layout in the tech pack. Active insulations such as Polartec® Alpha suit touring; synthetic fills of different weights suit resort wear. We test warmth against your climate and price targets rather than quoting fill weights alone.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the best fabric for a ski jacket?

For resort and freeride use, a 2L or 3L waterproof breathable shell is the standard. For ski touring, a stretch softshell or a light 3L shell with insulation underneath often works better.

Can you make matching ski pants and bibs?

Yes. We develop pants and bibs in the same fabric system, with boot gaiters, scuff guards and vents.

What waterproof rating does a ski jacket need?

Commonly 10,000 mm or higher hydrostatic head, with taped seams. Resort riders in wet conditions often choose higher ratings.

Can you do insulated ski jackets with recycled fill?

Yes. Recycled synthetic fills are available, with documentation depending on the supplier.
